My Favorite Job

So, do you all know the best job in the whole world?!  Being an older sister.  Hands down best part of my life.  I don’t know how many of you are an older sibling (or an aunt or uncle) and understand the awesomeness of this job.  I get the best benefits.  Here are some of my favorite parts of being an older sister:
1.       HUGE hugs whenever I come home from school or work.
2.       Mentioning in passing that I have candy in my purse, and watching everyone’s eyes light up.  I love to share my treats!
3.       Waking up to my one year old sister waving to me from her crib saying ‘Hi!’  It is impossible to wake up grouchy with a greeting like that.
4.       Finding a love note from my 5 year old brother, and hearing his interpretation of the scribbles.
5.       Getting compliments from my siblings.  Hearing that I am beautiful from a 5 year old is the best ever!
6.       When my siblings fight over who gets to sit by me (I am terrible for loving this battle!)
7.       Waking up to my 5 year old brother on my bed in the middle of the night with his arms around me.
8.       Laughing about embarrassing moments with my 17 year old brother at midnight...
9.       Being scolded for laughing too loud at midnight...by my 11 year old sister...
10. Listening to sweet testimonies during Family Home Evening.

Basically, I love being an older sister.

Breakup

I got a text from a random number today.  It basically made my day...

Random Guy: "Hey chica, I know this is sudden, but I've decided to break up with you. There's been someone else for a few months now. So...I won't be at your performance tonight. Sorry about that. I hope we'll still be friends, lol."

Me: "First of all, you have the wrong number. Second of all, what a terrible way to break up with someone."

Random Guy: "So are you saying you want me to break up your way? Or are you saying you won't let me break up with you? Because I'm with Melissa now and I love her. We had fun but now were over, okay?"

Me: "Dude. You have the wrong number."

Random Guy: "Is not. Its says 'Sara' in my phone and I can see all of our texts for forever, I'm not that gullible. But we're still friends, right?"

Me: "You have the wrong number. My name is not Sara."

Random Guy: "K, If you aren't Sara then how did your number magically appear in my phone? Can't answer me that, can you? I'm not as dumb as I look. ;)"

Me: "Why don't you tell me how you got my number, since I am the one who got a text from a random number.  Please stop texting me."

Whoever Sara is, she is not at any loss.  Weirdo.

You know it is a Wednesday when...

  • The first email you see is from an angry client who "didn't appreciate the letter" sent to close her file, claiming that my "tone was unnecessary".  She was then kind enough to advise me on how to do my job.

  • The client with the 2:00 appointment arrives at 1:45 to the wrong office...over 40 miles away.

  • You get the f bomb yelled at you by an angry client.

  • Inadvertently, you fuel an argument between a husband and wife when you mention a part of their case to the wife that the husband had not mentioned to her before. Fantastic.

It has been a great day.

Happy day!

Well yesterday was pretty fantastic for multiple reasons.  The biggest being the beautiful rain!  Crazy thing was that it was sunny on my lunch break, and raining two hours later!  It was so happy making :)  Rain is on the top of my happy list...so, needless to say, I was happy yesterday.

Today I am wearing all black to work, and I feel a bit mournful.  Good thing there are no clients coming in today :)  Despite my outward mournfulness, I believe today will be a fantastic day!

Lost and Found

I am lost.

As I drive, I see unfamiliar roads.
I turn blindly right, I turn blindly left.
I keep along my path, unaware.
Unaware of my destination or my past.

As I cry, I see unfamiliar signs.
And yet I continue on.
Something pulls me forward to the unknown.
Through the darkness I drive on.

As I listen, I hear unfamiliar cars.
Blindly, I stay within the lines on my right and left.
I follow the cars around me, unaware of my speed.
I am a follower, driving on a foreign road.

As I pray, I feel a warmth begin to cover me.
As I look up, I see my mountain in the distance.
My mountain bathed in brilliant morning light.
Now I have my own path. Now I have a purpose.

I am found.

Well friends, I have come to the conclusion that I am definitely a morning person.  I am not saying I am up in the mornings, (college and moving out has definitely changed that) but when I get a good night sleep, I love to be up early!  This morning I was up at 5:00am to see my brother to the airport (he is serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Singapore!!) and I remembered how much I love being up early.  I felt awake when I got to work, and felt as if my morning was well spent.I also got to see a beautiful sunset (see picture below)

The downside? I am currently dead tired.
